Downwind Warriors is an organization committed to the growth of “Downwind” Standup Paddling (SUPing) in the Pacific Northwest. It was founded by Art Aquino after hundreds of miles of “downwinding” on Maui (Maliko Run), in Hood River (Viento Park course) and the Puget Sound. Downwind SUP, as opposed to flat water SUP, uses the wind and wind swell/waves to “surf” or “glide” from point A to point B. We know you will love it!
Downwind Warriors is an extension of the “stoke” that has been passed on from Dave Kalama, Jeremy Riggs, Mark Raaphorst, Randy Royse, and Bill Babcock. As the ocean, open water and their heroes inspired them, we too are inspired to share downwinding with you in the northwest.
